12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of pale malts and grassy hops with some subtle fruity notes. Taste is bitter grassy hops, light stone fruit notes and slight caramel. Medium bodied. Nice to start the evening with after a long day of work on a hot day.

I sampled this beer about five weeks after bottling and diacetyl was starting to take this beer over. In all honesty I thought this beer would have been very good if it were not for the butterscotch overtones. Hopefully I can come across a clean sample.

Grassy hops aroma with a slight stale grainy aroma. Nice golden yellow with a fluffy white head. Grassy hops bitterness slightly sweet and some citrus in there too. Too much bitterness left on the palate in my opinion. Ehhh.

Draught at Capone’s: Faint aroma of malts and lemon with a hint of hops. Poured gold/yellow in color with a medium-sized, dense, creamy, white head. Clear. Not sparkling. Very good to excellent lacing. Slightly sweet, slightly bitter flavor. Tastes of wheat, malts, slight bitter hops, slight lemon, and slight grass. Light to medium body. Lightly chalky, thin texture. Average carbonation. Slight lemon, slight hop, wheat finish.

On tap-Rams Head Roadhouse. Clear golden color w/a moderate white head. Hopped grass aroma. Grassy hop bite w/some flavors of banana & citrus. Had a bitter bite to it, kind of wore me out after two. Thought it could have used a little something on the finish to balance it out. Enjoyed it as first drink, but the more I drank the less I wanted to drink it. Kind of a thin mouth feel, long bitter finish. Average @ best IMHO.

On tap at Capones. Poured a medium yellow color with a small sized white head. Aromas of grains with some grassiness. Tastes of the same graininess, grassy, and verly light caramel. I found the body to be on the weaker and somewhat watery side. Some lacing left on the glass.

Have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Lovely tastes of banana and sugar and overly flat hops, but nicely done so that the sugars can balance along the malts. For such an unbalanced style, this beer was great. The crispness wasn’t sacrificed at all to get the malts in there full blown. Nice beer.
