acrdz (4302), Boulder, Colorado, USA May 6, 2008 Bottle pours perfectly clear yellow with a white head. Sweet grain, corn, mild hay, lemon, other citrus, the hops are mostly transparent in the nose, but the snappy bitterness is there, almost coming off as a sweet/sugar/mint character, but certainly sharp and bitter but with little hop flavor. Not bad, a little wet/oily, could use some more dryness, but it’s fresh and it’s tasty. kmweaver (2010), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA May 3, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a bright, clear golden-yellow color; thin head which mostly fades to nothing; patchy off-white lacing at best. Reasonably dry, bready and sugary aroma; a bit one-dimensional and bland, like cardboard; slightest hint of pepper (good catch, Scott). Medium mouthfeel: not really all that dry or crisp; some basic sugary malts and citrus and mineral bitterness; some bread as well, but not a lot of depth here; ok, drinkable pilsener. Medium finish, with plenty of breadiness and dough and a touch of mineral hops. maniac (1976), Richmond, Virginia, USA May 12, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Crystal clear golden body with a large frothy off-white head. Huge grassy and earthy hop aroma - very fresh. Big grassy hop flavor, light maltiness. Firm bitter finish. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation. jgb9348 (1825), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA May 4, 2008 Crisp clear golden coloured body with a billion small bubbles still rising after about 10 minutes out of the bottle. A nice fluffy white head tops the beer and shows nicely. Aroma of fresh hops, cardboard, bread, malt and a bunch of citrus flavours ranging from grapefruits to lemons. Light-bodied; Nice lightly hoppy flavour mixed with a dose of malt, but not much else going. Overall, a decent beer - but sagging off the low end in terms of complexity. I hope this doesn’t have to do with the new owners, but this beer is pretty disapointing. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased earlier today, bottled on 07-April-2008, from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C on 03-May-2008. jeffc666 (1820), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jun 17, 2008 Loaded with citrus. Aroma, flavor and even a bit puckering on the palate. Lemon. Some bread. Enjoyable. Quite quaffable and a good warm weather pleaser.
