You can also find this beer as the house brew at the Tuskarora Mill in Leesburg, VA as Tuskie Ale. Pours to a beautiful, bright, deep chestnut to brown color, with a nice tan head, and a good carbonation. The nose is excellent, with lots of good sweet, carmel, and nutty malt, paired with estery and ripe fruit aroma, and earthy yeast aroma. The palate is rich and slightly slick on the tongue, with good sweet malt, caramel, and nut flavor. This is paired with some good, estery fruit, and hints of earth. This beer finishes with more of those flavors up front, then ends slightly sweet. Nice beer with good malty and estery aromas and flavor. Matches well with a number of dishes, and its a nice beer to fill your 2 liter growler to go with. jeffc666 (1895), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 15, 2003 Hazy brown with a small tan head. Very yeasty sweet candi sugar aroma. Some caramel also. Flavor is quite nice, caramel and dark fruits with a hefty dose of yeast. Medium body alcohol is noticeable, seems higer then the advertised 5.8%. Quite nice and drinkable. haddon90 (1036), Alexandria, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2004 Nice brown color. Tannish head. Spiced aroma, sweet, and a little malty. A different type of Belgian. Caramel and hops stick out in the flavor, with some different spices mixed in. Pretty decent! On tap at the Brew Pub in Ashburn, VA. hopscotch (5510), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 10, 2004 Very dark, burnt orange ale. Small, creamy, khaki-colored head with great retention. Subtle notes of Tootsie Roll and caramel. Clove and allspice. Fruity yeast (pear). Light-bodied with a lightly oily mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. jgb9348 (2511), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2003 Dark amber colour-slightly brown body with a thin tan head. Aroma of honey, caramel, vanilla, coriander seed and some yeast. Medium to Full-bodied; Fully spicey (coriander seed/nutmeg/nuts) character with some sweet tastes. Aftertaste has a nice nut flavour with good wheat/yeast tastes. Overall, a nice brown-not a style I typically care for. I sampled this on Draught at Old Dominion Brewery in Ashburn, Virginia on 30-December-2003. chriso (4796), London, Greater London, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2004 Rich bronze/brown colour. Well structured aroma with light malt, subtle hop and fruit (apricot). Similar flavours with candy sugar notes becoming apparent. Mellow, but not flabby, mouthfeel. Rather pleasant, but hardly Belgian in style, I’d say. On tap at the Dominion brewery.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 15, 2003 Poured from a firkin, the appearance was dark copper with a paltry head. Sweet malt aroma that did not fully develop even as it warmed. Taste had a sweet, fruity, mellow quality to it with minimal hoppiness. Finish was mild. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 5, 2004 Very pretty, deep ruby that sparkles when held up to the light. Nose is sugary, a bit of butterscotch candy. Flavor is mostly sugary, possibly peaty and mildly smoky. Was expecting a dubbel.
