| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 18, 2006 On tap at OD Brewpub. Dark clear reddish brown with a small beige head. Roastiness, chocolate and a hint of grass in the nose. Feels like a porter. Roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and plenty of hop bitterness. Well rounded. Medium body, moderate to light carbonation. I was never a big fan of black and tans but this one was pretty solid. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 30, 2006 Once bottled, now draught only product found at the brewpub and a few outlets. Dominion Black and Tan pours to a beautiful, bright, deep brown/light black color with a creamy tan head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose is packed with lots of aroma. Waves of chocolate malt, pale malt, a touch of roast, and some nice grassy hop aromatics flood the nose. The palate is firm, yet the body is soft enough, making this beer very gentle on the tongue. Flavors of sweet malt, pale malt, chocolate, coffee and subtle hints of roast fill the mouth. Dominion Black and Tan finishes with more sweet and chocolate malt flavors up front, then ends with a slightly roasty and bitter hop finish. Good with pub grub, and a nice session beer at the bar at OD.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2005 draft at a friend’s house. Very dark brown with a heavy tan head. Roasty malt aroma with light coffee. Not much of the hoppy ale gets through the rich stout flavor. Decent finish. I think this one was a bit too cold for all of the flavors to come through but a good beer, none the less. VTHopHead (928), Barre, Vermont, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 21, 2005 Draft at Dulles Airport - Poured a very dark, but watery black/brown with almost no head. Some malt in aroma. Flavor was fairly malty, but there was something about this beer that just did not do it for me. Easy drinking, but not one that I will rush to repeat. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 4, 2005 on tap at the dulles airport (talk about a random find). Intresting mix, a good malt character gave this a decent flavor, but a mild cheap beer aftertaste brought everything down a step. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 4, 2005 On tap, this brew pours a dark brown color with a thin off-white head. This brew picks up a lot of the chocolate from the stout but the thinness of the ale. The hops of the ale really bring a new flavor to a dark brew, livens it up a bit, fairly floral aromatic hops. This brew had a lightly roasty finish and is fairly smooth.
