| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 30, 2006 Once bottled, now draught only product found at the brewpub and a few outlets. Dominion Black and Tan pours to a beautiful, bright, deep brown/light black color with a creamy tan head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose is packed with lots of aroma. Waves of chocolate malt, pale malt, a touch of roast, and some nice grassy hop aromatics flood the nose. The palate is firm, yet the body is soft enough, making this beer very gentle on the tongue. Flavors of sweet malt, pale malt, chocolate, coffee and subtle hints of roast fill the mouth. Dominion Black and Tan finishes with more sweet and chocolate malt flavors up front, then ends with a slightly roasty and bitter hop finish. Good with pub grub, and a nice session beer at the bar at OD.
