| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2005 Growler... Very dark ale (dim lighting, but no penetration) with a small, creamy, well-tanned head. Evergreen, grapefruit, chocolate and a dash of mint in the nose. Chocolatey and moderately to highly bitter... too bitter for a brown ale. Kisses of alcohol and salt. Medium-bodied and resiny with medium carbonation. Long, bitter finish. Not really true to the style, but enjoyable. An India Brown Ale maybe? Thanks go out to Growler for the growler! egajdzis (3626), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 27, 2005 Poured a reddish, mahogany color with a medium sized tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, caramel, nuts, light chocolate, cognac, and possibly some port as well. Taste of caramel, toffee, nuts and roast, with a pleasant hoppiness. The alcohol was there but for the most part it was hidden very well. TheBeerGod (3157), Newport News, Virginia, USA

Small tan head. Aroma is hoppy with light caramel and a nice malt backbone. Taste is roasted malts with some sweetned malt notes. Lots of hops in this along with light spice and caramel. Body is medium with moderate carbonation and light bitterness. Finishes with roastiness and more big hops. Light sweetened hints in this as well. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2005 Dark brown. Nose sweet, maple syrup. Quite malty and a bit spicy. Big maltiness, some rasin and cola-sweet. Vaguely smoky and a bit acidic. A mite overhopped. Decent brew, but tasted a bit like two different beers. Didn’t blend the flavors together particularly well. jeffc666 (1891), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 29, 2005 Dark almost opaque ruby/brown body topped by a dense creamy tan head. Glass lace is superb. Fruity citurs hop aroma followed by a nutty bit of roasted malt. Smells very fresh and enticing. The flavor is citrus, grapefruit hoppiness followed by medium sweet nutty roasted malt. Not overwhelmingly a brown ale, much hoppier. Medium dry palate, alcohol comes forward towards the end. An interesting beer. Here’s to O.D. doing more "excursions" in this vein. Dark brown in color with hints of red along the edges. Great lacing. Roasted malts and fruity hops with a little spice. Light to medium bodied , roasted malts, nice bitterness from a generous helping of hops. A little chocolate in there also. Creamy, roasty and bitter finish. Decent.
