On tap at the brewpub on 7/16/06: Pours a clear copper amber with orange hues and a nicely-lacing frothy, cream-colored head. Aroma has a fresh light piny citrus hop character with a touch of toasty caramel malts. Body starts fairly full, but not very sweet with a light hoppy bitterness and a touch of citrus, but not much else. Needs more malty sweetness and bigger hop notes to really be considered a double red.

On tap at the brewpub, RBSG 2006. An amber beer with a dense orange head. The aroma is sweet with a light note of hops - in general very light due to the beer being served on nitrogen. The flavor is nicely hoppy with light notes of berries and grapefruit, leading to a slightly bitter end. The mouthfeel is very smooth - again due to the nitrogen.

Nitro draught. Very red, creamy head. Aroma is faint, but slightly malty. Caramel in flavor, with mildly hopped slightly bitter finish. Sugar noted at end, alcohol after a few sips, noticed a slight touch of chocolate.

Draught at Old Dominion for breakfast - RBSG DC 06 Red, caramel, creamy whilte head, lots of lacing. Nose of grassy, pear, apple and dark cinnamony hops. The flavor is malty, nice rich body and a complex malt base. Finishes creamy and bitter. Nice beer.

(Nitro) Pours a clear deep amber body with medium-sized beige head. Aroma of caramel, grassiness, and flora. Nice hops and malt balance with a creamy mouthfeel.

On tap at the brewpub, RBSG 2006. Coppery amber with an off white head. Hoppy nose for a red, caramel, mild malt. The body is the star here - creamy, smooth satin. Sweeter than expected finish, but with a decent hop bite. Some spiciness detectable in the very end. Nice! Alcohol is not detectable - at 9%!

Draft at Old Dominion before RBSG. Copper bodied. Dense creamy tannish colored head. Nose is earthy hops, dried fruits and caramel. Taste is caramel, malts, light fruits, and hops. Body is extremely creamy and velvety, almost. Thin, soft carbonation due to the nitro. Finishes with more sweet malts, and slightly fruity with lighter earthy hops and a hint of spice.
