Jul 16, 2006 Dark copper, heavy on the red. The head is longlasting and creamy. The aroma is a lot smaller than I think it really should be, possibly a fault of the nitro. The flavor is really mellow. Decent caramel maltiness. There’s absolutely no harshness or sign of it’s size. This thing would be seriously dangerous.

Jun 24, 2006 Nitro tap @ the BP. Very smooth w/ a hoppy bite. Creamy, but overall flavor profile was a little bland.

Jun 11, 2006 Nitro at ODBC. Pours an attractive dark amber/red with a thick creamy head. The aroma is pretty much dead, can’t really smell anything - a slight whiff of caramel. Flavor has notes of darker toasted malt/toffee and plenty of grapefruit hop bitterness. Moderately sweet, pretty well-balanced. Medium body with a smooth nitro feeling in the mouth. The nitro just neutralized everything in this beer. I would love to re-rate this out of a co2 tap.

Jun 4, 2006 Clear red with a dense white nitro head. Light hoppiness but very neutral overall, typical with nitro beers I have found. Light caramel and bread with medium to light bitterness. Soft creamy typical nitro mouthfeel. As always happens the nitro ruins what might otherwise be a nice beer.

Jun 3, 2006 (Nitro) Creamy off-white head with clear copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, grapefruit, caramel. Bitterness is most noticeable in the finish but still feels somewhat muted due to the nitro. Smooth, light-medium body. Nitro has N-O in it for a reason.

Jun 2, 2006 Nitro... Clear, deep copper ale with a mid-sized, creamy, manilla head. Excellent retention, of course. The aroma is yeasty, musty and malty, but muted. Leans on the bitter side of balance, flavorwise. No trace of alcohol, but plenty of hearty hops and solid caramel malt. Medium-bodied and ultra-creamy with almost no carbonation. Dry finish. I scratch my head and wonder how much better this beer would have been if served from a beer engine or even a regular tap. The nitro definitely muffled every characteristic of this beer... with mouthfeel being the lone exception. There’s unrealized potential here!
