| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 31, 2009 I really liked this APA. It’s smooth, drinkable, flavorful and enjoyable. This beer pours an amber color with a big, generous and soft white head. The head leaves a decent amount of lacing around the glass. There really isn’t much to the aroma, with only very subtle hints of hops, grass, earth, bread and caramel malt noted. The body, though, as mention, is extremely smooth and drinkable. It has an almost creamy tone to it that makes this beer that more drinkable. This would make for a good session beer. The flavors are very well-rounded and balanced, with crisp notes of hops and bready malt, with hints of grapefruit, biscuits, floral notes, grass and earth. The finish is also balanced with some mildly spicy notes complimented by bready and earthy malt tones. This is definitely an enjoyable and satisifying pale ale.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Poured a nice amber color with a good sized off white head. Floral hop aroma. Citrus hop flavor with some toffee. Finished moderately bitter and was balanced well by the malt. Not a bad APA at all, another good beer from a good brewery. manicmethod (7), Maryland, USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 21, 2009 nice and smooth, a little malty, not very bitter. good appearance, not too frothy. scraff (1942), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

What a bummer that this is a new offering from the relocated OD brewing rather than bringing back the best APA ever New River! Anyhooow. Amber/orange small beige head. Sweet malt first light citrus hoppiness. Flavor is much the same. Decent but not great, certainly not New River! Have I mentioned my feelings RE New River? carruthm (1130), Seattle, Washington, USA
