Commercial Description:
Dominion Lager is brewed using four types of malted barley: Two-Row Pale Brewer’s malt, Munich, Carapils, and Caramel. The bittering hops are Perle and Hallertau from the Yakima Valley in Washington State. The aromatic hops are domestic Tettnang, German Hallertau Hersbrucker, and Czech Saaz. This combination of malt and hops, along with a classic lager yeast from Germany, and the long, low-temperature lagering process results in a mild, smooth, flavorful, complex beer that is a delight to drink.

Yeasty, bready, dry up front, and hoppy up front too. Resolves still dry, but malts replace hops for the dominant taste in the end. I was skeptical at first (only because the label reminded me of some swill I bought at Sams once), but found this to be a really nice lager. Very nice indeed.

I would sum up by saying it reminds me of Anchor Steam, but witha little more agression and maybe personality.

In the bottle. This was the March 2006 Beer O the Month Club selection. Thanks to pman for the subscription! Golden in color with a white head that is very large with big bubbles. Has a fun lager yeasty aroma thaty conjures up rising bread dough. The flavor is hoppy at first, then is followed by a serious malt sweetness. This is well-made and a solid session lager in my opinion.

The aroma is of sweet fruit and caramel malt. The color is a pale yellow with a huge white head. Head retention is fully lasting with excellent lacing. The flavor has a caramel sweetness which then grows into a mild hoppy bitterness. The finish is crisp and clean.

Very tasty "lager." Poured a nice golden color wih a decent amount of fizzy white head. Aroma is malty sweet with slight grassy saaz scents. Flavor is smooth, full bodied and sweet malts. Not all that complex but refreshing and easy drinking. Overall, enjoyable.

Light gold pour with a thin but lasting white head. Grassy and straw nose with some hops. Yeasty taste with a slight malt character. Peppery and active mouthfeel. I really liked this one, considering the style. Very pleasant to drink, moderately complex and refreshing. Very nice brew.

Not avery long lived head to this golden lager, but a nice steady beading throughout. It’s got a honey sweet, toasted malt aroma with a balancing grassy hoppiness. Medium bodied and neatly carbonated, the toasted malts continue along with a hint of pear and an herbal bitterness. Nice crisp finish, and well worth repeating.
