| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 7, 2007 The aroma was bourbon and vanilla and oak with a strong alcohol presence and behind the other aromas a strong malt backbone of caramel and toffee. Bourbon leads the charge with tannic oak most notable. The beer poured into the glass oddly hazy with suspended particulates and a very low, yet persistent off white head which laced the glass. The flavor was vanilla, oak and bourbon coupled with caramel and toffee and a sherrylike presence. The bittering was present but dominated by all things bourbon. The flavor was char, smoke and bourbon with barleywine hiding way in the background. The finish was dry with impressions of barleywine just before the finish and long lasting bourbon and smoke into the aftertaste and beyond. The body was full and bordered on viscous with a moderate level of carbonation. The alcohol warming was substantial and lasting. Tread lightly or pay the price with this one. 12 ounce bottle, bottled on 110405. cbkschubert (2013), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 3, 2007 12 oz. bottle via trade with hopdog - Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a one finger thick off white head. Light, but thick lacing. Love the aroma. It’s full of esters (pineapple) and toasted malt. The flavor is also full of esters, malt, and light spice (vanilla). The barrel aging really shines as the beer warms. Soft, smooth mouthfeel. Medium to full body. Alcohol isn’t overbearing, but you know it’s there. An excellent beer. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2007 A light pink-hued copper with a thin white head. Doesn’t look so dense as most of the style. The nose isn’t particularly dense either. Low malt profile for the style, though not detrimentally, with a bit of caramel. Much more dominant vanilla, alcohol, and some tannic wood. A bit creamy. Lightly fruity, lively. A bit thin on the palate, a bit sticky, with low carbonation levels. The flavors are in line with the aroma. Tannic fruity oak. Caramel malt is balanced with this. The bourbon vanilla oak doesn’t really dominate the malt, and neithr does the malt dominate. The two flavors are both rather subdued, which is nice compared to the oak over the head treatment I find in most barrel aged beers. Some marginal floral hops, most of the balance from the wood. Some grape and alcohol and tannin in the finish. Fruity aftertaste (cherry?). Not a bad beer, but not what I want ideally in a barleywine. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 21, 2007 11/06 Vintage. 12oz bottle via trade with Axllives. Sampled side by side wtih regular millennium. Pours a more transclucent orange with a thin white head. The aroma is more muted than regular millenium and it does have some oak and bourbon in the nose. The taste is sweet , and strong and clearly there is bourbon in this brew. There certainly is some sherry here as well. There are definite differences but they are hard to peg down. The regular version is more defined and crisp with flavor that can be deteceted independently. The Oak aged version is more of a muddle, it isn’t bad but it blends more, all the tastes build upon one another. More character here though, more intriguing qualities. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 20, 2007 Pours a reddish brown color with absolutely no head to speak of. Smell is sherry like and somewhat floral. Taste is absolutely incredible. Just a slight bit of carbonation. No sense of the alcohol at all in the taste. Only a slight bit of warming as it goes down. This is a damn fine beer. I would love to have this again after its aged for a while. Will have to see if they maintain this as a offering and keep the quality up now. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 15, 2007 The beer pours a deep ruby red with a diminishing white head. Aroma is vanilla, toffee, fresh baked bread, sherry, and caramel. The pallate is a well balanced between the alcohol and the sweetness from the malt. The oakiness is so predominant but not overly-dominant. I don’t know that BBAed has ever been so pleasant. A chewy maltiness underides it all biut this is all about the BBAing. Very desert like and delicious. MrBendo (1044), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2007 Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a medium head. Aroma of bourbon, brown sugar and funky sour apple candy. Wood and alcohol in the taste, with a little hops. Complex, to be sure. But the flavor seems disjointed to me.
