Reddish-amber color with a soapy beige head. Aroma has some of the standard Millennium sweetness in it, but is modified by the Bourbon, creating a nice Whiskey-BW hybrid. Taste is a nice oaky-bourbon-sweet mix that I found refreshing. Complex and sweet, but not overdone. Sweet, dark fruits and vanilla also prominent. Well hopped for an English BW as well - BA version of this wins out by creating a distinct, yet exciting version of this beer. I just hope it continues to be produced now that Dominion has been sold! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 3, 2007 Poured a light copper color with a thick soapy head. Light pineapple/tangerine and some vanilla. I suppose this is more of an "English-syle" BW, and of the previous examples I’ve had the aromas have been way too sweet and fruity, but I like the aroma here. Light palate for a BW. The 11% is ridiculously well-hidden. Taste is slightly sweet with just enough hop presence to balance everything. The oak is mostly apparent in the finish. The barrel-aging agrees with the style very well. I dug this one. b33r (363), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 1, 2007 Dark orange/amber in color with small white head. Nice aroma, roasty and caramel. Also was the flavor, very rich maltys and some fruit notes. Tasted a bit of alcohol. Overall very good. alexsdad06 (1082), Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Bottle. Pours reddish copper with a disappearing small white head. Sweet aroma that also included oak, bourbon, and some citrus elements. Thicker mouthfeel than the oak barrel stout. I get flavors of caramel, vanilla, bourbon, roasted malts, and dark fruits. For some reason no citrus like the aroma? Overall a nice barley wine except for the price. Soonah (940), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 12, 2007 Updated: Apr 12, 2007From Immy via trade. Thank you kindly. Pour was a vibrant copper with orange highlights. Not really a subtle amber, it had a bright hue to it. The head was thin and white and surrendered itself back to the amber quickly leaving no lacing. The aroma was sweet initially with a bit of wood and alcohol. A bit of piney hops lingered in the distance. The flavor was terrific. Sweet syrupy caramel taken over by the warm rush of bourbon. Then the bit of hops comes forth. The 10%+ alcohol warms nicely. Sophisticated. Sadly it was over too soon. presario (2983), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2007 Trade with kmweaver. Almost no head on an amber liquid. Weird sour tangerine alcohol aroma. More hops than malt in flavour. Alcohol is quiter in flavour than aroma. Flavour is intriguing. Bitter wood and alcohol with some hop presence. BuckeyeBoy (1670), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 8, 2007 Bottle:Lighter color than most BW’s with a white head. The aroma is dry like large wood splinters found near a wood pile on a hot summer day. The taste is intriguing with a great balance of vanilla sweetness and hop bitterness. I could definitely sense the sweetness from the bourbon, but I also noticed the oak character that one might taste when drinking a oaky Cabernet. The aftertaste leaves a little to chew on which is nice. Quite enjoyable. Thanks BuckeyeBoy!
