Commercial Description:
Dominion Millennium is a very strong ale brewed in the English Barley Wine style. Often called the "sherry of the beer world", barley wine is best sipped at warmer temperatures, and should be enjoyed in moderation, as it contains twice the alcohol of regular beers.

Redish color. Smell of fruit, hops and hints of spice. Tastes very sweet with grapes, grapefruit, caramel, apples, spice, nuts, wood and a nice bitterness. Not too bad of alcohol taste either. This beer definitley warms your body up. One of my favorites to date.

Vintage 2004. Clear reddish amber with a small dissapearing head. Full caramel aroma with notes of honey, brown sugar, earth and alcohol. Very full flavour of caramel, toffee, vanilla and honey with nice bitter woody tone. Bitter finish of wood and alcohol with a vanilla sweetness underneath. Pleasant.

Bottled. Beer’s a clear medium amber-brown with a small, frothy, white, mostly and rapidly diminishing head. Leggy. The aroma is dominated by yeast notes with moderate-to-heavy sourdough, light note of sharp cheese; hoppy with a light herbal note; malty with light notes of roasted grain; light note of alcohol and a trace of raisin. Not very warm or fruity smelling. The flavor is moderately-to-heavily bitter, moderately sweet with a long, lightly bittersweet, moderately warm finish. The body is full, the texture is syurpy and the carbonation is light.

(2002 Vintage) Thin head of dense creamy off white bubbles. Low carbonation. Rich aroma with plenty of raisins, grapes, butter toffee and caramel. Hint of oxidative sourness but hidden behind all of the other great aromas. Color is a cloudy dark rusty brown. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a good helping of malts and plenty of alcohol. Body is a little thiner than expected from the aroma and the look of the liquid. Nice alcohol kick and warming. Some sweet malts and a bit of caramel. Light sherry notes in there (vinuous). Finish is clean and slightly dry with no oxidation present in the finish. No tartness either. This is a pretty good barleywine and a great representation of the style.

Feb 2004 vintage per Jason. The beer pours to a hazy/murky caramel color with a thin tan head. The aroma is oaken caramel, sweet candi sugar, pine and malt. The flavor is piney, grassy, oaky toffee and brown sugars. Nice resiny full mouth feel.

Feb ’04 bottling. Hazy amber-brown body, thin white head. Buttery, bready sweet caramel aroma. Maris Otter and tootsie roll chocolate in the flavor over leafy hops and alcohol. A nicely sweet English-style BW.

04 vintage per Jason C. Pours to a cloudy lightly glowing orangish brown mud color w/ a thick tan head and some soapy lacing. Aroma is a little subdued, english style lightly sweet some good light carmels and maybe a touch of some bitter pines that come through a little. Palate is full and well coated lightly creamy. Flavor is very sweet mostly toffee flavors w/ touches of brown sugar and a light dry bitter finish that cleans the mouth nicely, but leaves a dry tongue. A very easy to drink brew.

At the VA Beer Festival, Norfolk, VA. Clear gold with an off white, yellow tinged head. Candylike nose and flavor, both are sweet orange, caramel, resiny. Citrusy bitter finish. Awesome lace that lasts forever. Sticky palate, very good!
