Bottle. Pours a dark amber brown body with an off white head. Aroma is etoh some dark fruit but the large hop character turned me off from this. 3.5 Wow just had a 5 year old keg version at of this and it was freaking awesome. Good bye hops hello to a malty fruity nectar of vinous alcohol. I loved it. 4.1

Poured a nice orange brown color. nose is fruit and caramel. Taste is nice caramel, some more fruit, and a great big hop punch that I wasn’t expecting, some citrus and spice. I don’t think anyone can call this an english barleywine, but I guess that’s in the eye of the beerholder.

Pours an attractive amber with a light creamy beige head. Very viscous looking pour. Smell is malty with mostly caramel and a touch of fruitiness. Taste is rich, smooth, creamy sweet leaning maltiness in the form of caramel and lightly honey too. A bit of alcohol coming in through the flavor, but not bad for 11.4%. Pretty mild hop-wise but a bit of bitterness shows, but its definitely a sweeter, but shy of cloying barley wine.

020108 bottle. Pours an amber color with minimal white head. Malt and hay aroma, with a bit of fruit trying to sneak out. Flavor is very malty, a bit more hay, some caramel, and a bit of alcohol on the finish. Decent, some age might help.

Not a bad barley wine. Although not my favorite style of beer, i think its growing on me. I enjoyed the hop level of this barley wine. It gave it a nice twist that you dont normally find in them. Definitely worth trying

bottle. this really reminds me of Bells Hopslam.... its heavy on the honey and grapefruit... really kind of a light Barley Wine or hybrid of a IIPA and a Barley WIne. much hoppier than a true English Style Barley Wine... quite excellent. Pours a deep amber / orange with no head. Huge honey and citrus aromas with a touch of hops..... I just wish the aroma was turned up a bit.... medium body with a spicy front and solid finish which lets the alcohol out a bit... slight burn which lets you know the abv. Wonderful citrus and honey notes with a very well balanced bitterness. sticky and sweet....

12oz bottle. Pours light brown/dark amber, small white head. The taste is nutty. with a roasted caramel taste to it. The flavors get more complex as the beer warms with the honey and other sweet malt tastes coming out. The alcohol taste is masked fairly well. I drank one of them with a churchill cigar and it was a brilliant combination.

bottled 02/01/08. poured into a Duvel glass. pours a hazy burnt amber with a small off-white head. smells strongly of citrus with some port notes and a bit of honey. spicy floral flavor with a good deal of alcohol overpowering the lighter flavors of fruit and honey. finishes bitter with way too much alcohol. maybe with some age it would be pretty good but for now it is just way too hot.
