Commercial Description:
Dominion Millennium is a very strong ale brewed in the English Barley Wine style. Often called the "sherry of the beer world", barley wine is best sipped at warmer temperatures, and should be enjoyed in moderation, as it contains twice the alcohol of regular beers.

04 vintage per Jason C. Pours to a cloudy lightly glowing orangish brown mud color w/ a thick tan head and some soapy lacing. Aroma is a little subdued, english style lightly sweet some good light carmels and maybe a touch of some bitter pines that come through a little. Palate is full and well coated lightly creamy. Flavor is very sweet mostly toffee flavors w/ touches of brown sugar and a light dry bitter finish that cleans the mouth nicely, but leaves a dry tongue. A very easy to drink brew.

some what murky brown color, small head that faded quickly leaving little behind.Malty, fruity aroma with a decent hint of hops and maybe a little yeast and alcohol but its faint at best so far.malty flavor upfront with a bit of a fruit presence then it quickly changes to some bitter hops and an alcohol bite. Not bad but not exactly a brew that i’m fond of this time.It well worth the try but not a second time for me.Thanks to Slob for sending this brew my way.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with The_Epeeist. Pours a hazy amber with a thin off-white head that disappeared after the first sip. Lots of fat carbonation bubbles clinging to the sides of the glass. Light aroma of caramel with some lemon detected as well. The flavor is caramel with some citrus hops towards the finish. A bit more effervescent than I would care for in a barley wine. Some butteriness, but not as much as I would expect in a barley wine. Probably not something I’d revisit.

12 oz. bottle thanks to Slob. Special thanks too for the aged bottle. This was a 2003. Excellent aromas. Honey, molassas, caramel, dried fruit, a touch of chocolate. Flavors were more molassas and caramel on the front. Some slightly tartness in the middle. Kinda different there. The finish was alcohol warming and then a lingering of hops and some kind of spice. Very good

2008 - Dark amber, thin wispy white head. Deep earthy hop nose that warms to softer notes of honeyed flroals and peached sherry. Moderate nutty earth bitterness partially balances over light honey and boozy molasses-like tones. Lacking complexity in my book. Cellar time might help. Lighter side of medium bodied, light carbonation, Sahara dry, bittersweet finish. The best years appear to be behind this one. Guess that’s A-B for you...

A big malty, alcohol-filled, caramelly club to the head. While not as spectacular as SN’s Bigfoot, Millenium’s a good barleywine. Great maltiness that just hangs on the palate forever. Quite nice.
