Commercial Description:
Dominion Millennium is a very strong ale brewed in the English Barley Wine style. Often called the "sherry of the beer world", barley wine is best sipped at warmer temperatures, and should be enjoyed in moderation, as it contains twice the alcohol of regular beers.

From a twist cap 12 oz. bottle with a bottling date in the upper right hand corner, 02.16.06, sampled at cellar temperature in a chalice. Poured a bright orangey copper with a foamy, bubbly off-white head that settled into a thin bubbly lacing. Aromas of caramel covered figs, toasted grains and honey, earthy hops and whiffs of alcohol. Good moderate carbonation and a crisp, creamy smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. Tastes of caramel, buttery toffee and pineapple, a honey sweetness, a light graininess the mixes with the alcohol, the alcohol is also warming in the palate, a soft herbal, earthy hoppiness, and a dry oily, malty and pineapple fruity finish. An excellent English-style barley wine, tasty with a easy sipping drinkability, a must try for anyone who likes barley wines.

(on bottle at CPH Yeha05, thx for the bottle hopsctotch) Not a highroller i my book; but for danish BW it would still kick butt. Full of all the malts and hops, kind of fat in the mouthfeel. Finish is really alcoholic. An unbalanced brew, would love to taste it aged, especially barrel.version.

Bottle from Immy, thanks. Celebrated the re-launch of rate beer with this one, alcohol was well hidden, easy to drink for a Barley wine. Some fruit and spice, sugar, was expecting abit more flavor to this one, but it was still good, drinkable, ok.

Cloudy brown color, sweet malty aromas, hints of honey in both the nose as well as the flavors, also some undertones of brown sugar, very sweet aftertaste, very well balanced & full bodied, slight hoppiness in the palate as well, very nice barleywine

Draught from a 5-year old keg. Pours a cloudy brown with a small white head. Aroma is very sweet---vanilla, oak, alcohol, and sweet sweet sweet malt. Flavor is the same--lots of vanilla, alcohol, and sweet super sweet malt. Oh yeah, it was sweet. Too much for me. To the rater below me: no the alcohol does not tone down with age. Blech. This was a disappointment. 4/4/4/2/8 (2.2/5)

[9/5/08] Bottle sample during LCRBM at Kulminator in Antwerp. Murky brown. Aroma of lots of malt, some oak, caramel and fruits. Very sweet flavor with lots of malt, caramel, honey and fruits. Full-bodied.

Pours a beautiful, glowing dark amber. Great alcoholy, malty, bourbon like aroma. Tastes sweet with dark fruits, sherry, honey, pipe tobacco, some wood, grapefruit, pepper and a ton of hops. Some alcohol detected in the finish. Medium smooth body but a bit on the thin side with subtle carbonation. Overall, very good stuff. 1998 Vintage: Pours a hazy apple cider like color with a very small head. Aroma is of port wine and dark fruits. Taste is expectedly sweet/syrupy and refined. Although the brew has a strong alcohol presense it has definitely mellowed and matured over time. Taste also has notes of honey, mustiness, earth, pipe tobacco, plums, nuts, english hops and some bitterness. Mouthfeel is very full, round and creamy.

2002 vintage. Orange with an off white head. Aroma of malt, hops, and a touch of oxidation. Smells like an aged barlywine for sure. Flavor is very heavy on the hops. Nice sherried malt underneath. Good mouth feel, with a hard alcohol-like presence.
