Commercial Description:
Dominion Millennium is a very strong ale brewed in the English Barley Wine style. Often called the "sherry of the beer world", barley wine is best sipped at warmer temperatures, and should be enjoyed in moderation, as it contains twice the alcohol of regular beers.

2002 vintage. Orange with an off white head. Aroma of malt, hops, and a touch of oxidation. Smells like an aged barlywine for sure. Flavor is very heavy on the hops. Nice sherried malt underneath. Good mouth feel, with a hard alcohol-like presence.

2002 - Color is a dark glowing clouded caramel brown with a thin, whipped buttery head thats dark cream colored with some bigger bubbles opposite from the pour, fades to a thin ring and minimal spots. Good barley wine nose with good hefty caramelized malts, has a light burntish quality overall, slight sweet toffee and even lighter molasses, hops play with a nice floral and pine resin deep in the back with a touch of alcoholic warmth. Taste has a very mild start, quite smooth and creamy in feel eventually building caramel and toffee sweetness that disappears soon there after. Leads into a partially hefted thickness in bittering hops which are soft and playfully piney and floral, finishing with a touch of heavy/darkened grapefruit notes and a deeper pine then at first and fading off the palate with just a touch of alcholic warmth and spice. Feel has a thinner start then I like, creamy throughout, but gradually builds a nice crescendo to get closer to fullness, which doesn't last long just past midway and fades into a nice easy finish. The 11.4% is hidden well making for a nice drinkin', solid barley wine.

12 oz bottle. 2006. Clear dark orange tea with thin head. Very light butterscotch and honey. There is some nice sweetness in the middle but quickly bitters out. Might be very good in a few years.

Lighter brown color, thin head. Big malt, slightly sweet, some underlying hops to balance it out. Smooth big body, nice alcohol masking. A nice treat.

Slightly hazy red-brown w/ frothy beige head that dissipated quickly. Fruity, malty nose. Full bodied. Malty flavour of caramel & molasses w/ an underlying fruitiness. Alcohol is well-hidden.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear light orange amber with a small light beige head. Aroma of faint candied sugar, fruit, caramel and toasted malt. Taste of candied sugar, papaya, light orange peel, caramel, toasted malt and a touch of alcohol. Better as it warms.

Bottle, from trade with The_Beer_God. Bottling date Feb 11 2005. Ok nose, little funky. Ripe fruit. Pear, banana, apple, plum. Lite whisky. Caramel and or vanilla. Hazy orangy brown color. Small head that faded to nothing. Minor lacing. Malty flavors. Sour. Like aroma with a little grapefruit. Damn this has a taste to it that I can’t quite place. Medium body, creamy smooth mouthfeel, sweet & Sour finish. Tasty enough, but I’m not diggin it. Little of the rotten fruit thing.
