Commercial Description:
Dominion Millennium is a very strong ale brewed in the English Barley Wine style. Often called the "sherry of the beer world", barley wine is best sipped at warmer temperatures, and should be enjoyed in moderation, as it contains twice the alcohol of regular beers.

Can’t remember who sent me this. Thanks to whoever did. Bottled 040306. Hazy amber/orange with a thin layer of off white film. Aroma of rich caramel/toffee, sweet mixed fruits, light dose of vanilla and generic spice. Flavor is similar, not very complex but tasty. Some bitter, resinous hops and moderate alcohol in the finish. Medium/full body, balanced carbonation. Goes down a little too easy for 11.4%. Solid.

12oz bottle from Immy and someone else (sorry I forgot). Heavy fruit and caramel on the nose. Very malt forward. Prunes, apricot and a kiss of citrus zest. Lots of rich, warm caramel. Pours a cloudy dark orange/brown with virtually no head and little evidence of carbonation. Toasted caramel and toffee, almond and cashews, alcohol, bready malt and a hint of hops on the tongue. Medium bodied, low carbonation with a kick of alcohol on the finish,

Is it possible got a bad bottle?I read the other rates and they don’t match what I tasted.Beer was not sweet but bitter. As you drank this more and more the bitterness came out.Did not rival a barley wine at all.

Sweet fruits, figs, pears plums, sweet malts and finally alcohol in the aroma, smooth charming sweet fruit and malt flavors, much lighter body then I expected, a variety of alcohol drenched sugary fruits, much like some whoop a tooees,I ’ve had, as it warms the alcohol starts dominating the light body, tastey, easy drinking potent brew

Fresh vintage. Molten red pour with a thin lining of white foam. Aroma suggests dark chocolate fudge and warm pecan pie. Rich caramel and winks of bright fruit. Bits of honey-oak whiskey, dates, and cherry skin. Very sweet. Differently, the taste is intially bitter, though not in a hoppy sense, and quite dry. This is a maple wood and nail polish collaboration before it softens a bit. A touch of citrus glaze, showing a pleasantly restrained use of hops, on an earthy wild rice mash. Definitely mildly hot. Burnt graham and distant pineapple juice in a slow, progressively sweet finish. Syrupy in the mouth. So promising, but very young.

’05 Bottle courtesy of Carl4beer. Pours a flat ruddy brown with no carbonation or head. The nose is full of dried fruits, caramel, brown sugar and malt. The flavor is not quite as complex or smooth as the nose, but you have to try the Oaked version!

Clear reddish amber color with a small fizzy white head. Fresh orange, grapefruit, and sugary caramel aroma, along with some oak. The orange and oak show up in the flavor as well. Thin mouthfeel, but flavor is full.
