Commercial Description:
Dominion Millennium is a very strong ale brewed in the English Barley Wine style. Often called the "sherry of the beer world", barley wine is best sipped at warmer temperatures, and should be enjoyed in moderation, as it contains twice the alcohol of regular beers.

(12 oz bottle: ScottVacula’s Barleywine Party 04) Malty and sweet like a typical barleywine, but also fairly bitter with a somewhat sharp hang in the finish; The palate is sweet and sticky, sharp in the finish and a bit hot; Fruity, sweet, mild malt aromas; Orange/amber in color; Tan head fades to a rim fairly quickly; Could use some aging at this point

Dark reddish brown colour with a thin head. Little carbonation with lots of thick malty flavour. Finished sour and a bit bitter.

Tasted this at the ratebeer may 04 gathering in the spring, and couldn’t find this on the site, but now I have. Thanks goes out to jgb9348 for this one! Aroma is alcohol first and foremost, with malty caramel hints following. Body is a dark amber colour, head is medium sized, off white. Taste is like a port, or a whiskey.....with malts and an alcohol burn that is slight and enjoyable.

2004 12 oz. bottle via trade with kp - Pours a cloudy deep amber color with a thin off white head that faded pretty quick. No lacing. Light carbonation. Aroma is vinous and full of esters. Flavor is big esters and some malt sweetness. The alcohol is noticeable in this one. A pretty nice BW. Thanks Keith.

Bottle courtesy of BuckNaked in trade. Pours ruby amber with no head. Decent caramel molasses aroma, with some alcohol coming through. Flavor is the same, but very muted. Maybe a little astringent. Easy drinking BW but just doesn’t score well in individual categories.

Bottle. The abv on this one is 11.4%. Bottling date: 04/03/06. A cloudy amber/rust pour with a small tan head. Lots of plums in the aroma along with some vanilla extract, caramel and a little grapefruit. A tad thin for a barley wine along with an above-average level of carbonation. Caramel and spices upfront. Finishes quite dry and biscuity with plenty of bitterness. More of a dark fruit/brown sugar/syrupy barley wine than of the hoppy/citrusy variety. Ample alcohol warmth throughout. The oak barrel version is much better.

Clear ruby red with a thin head. Nice smell is caramel figs booze and oxiation. Smooth mouthfeel. Taste mirrors the smell with a nice alcohol bite finish. Feb192004 bottling date. 61306

Can’t remember who sent me this. Thanks to whoever did. Bottled 040306. Hazy amber/orange with a thin layer of off white film. Aroma of rich caramel/toffee, sweet mixed fruits, light dose of vanilla and generic spice. Flavor is similar, not very complex but tasty. Some bitter, resinous hops and moderate alcohol in the finish. Medium/full body, balanced carbonation. Goes down a little too easy for 11.4%. Solid.
