Commercial Description:
Dominion Millennium is a very strong ale brewed in the English Barley Wine style. Often called the "sherry of the beer world", barley wine is best sipped at warmer temperatures, and should be enjoyed in moderation, as it contains twice the alcohol of regular beers.

Pours the color of cherry wood with a thin ivory head. Smells of molasses, dark fruit, vanilla and oak. Tastes of alcohol up front but not too hot. Caramel flavors, hints of vanilla, plum and other dark fruit. Some significant hops in the finish but the malt shines in this beer. Mouth is rich and full. Finish is an warming alcohol burn. A good candidate for aging but pretty good now. Good winter seasonal.

At the VA Beer Festival, Norfolk, VA. Clear gold with an off white, yellow tinged head. Candylike nose and flavor, both are sweet orange, caramel, resiny. Citrusy bitter finish. Awesome lace that lasts forever. Sticky palate, very good!

Pours a slightly hazy coppery color with a quarter inch off-white head that fades failry quickly to a spotty cap that leaves mild lacing. Smell; a bit of sweet honey and some hints of toffee at first, strong piney hops, and some cherries. Taste; the hops hit at first, by dark fruits, and followed by slightly sweet honey and toffee background, and finishing with a bit a an alcohol bite. Mouthfeel is full bodied and just slightly oily/slick.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber brown body with an off white head. Aroma is etoh some dark fruit but the large hop character turned me off from this. 3.5 Wow just had a 5 year old keg version at of this and it was freaking awesome. Good bye hops hello to a malty fruity nectar of vinous alcohol. I loved it. 4.1

Dark golden brown color. The aroma is sugary, with yeast and wood scents coming through. Full, sticky, resiny palate is very nice. Full malt flavor with a nice sticky hop presence. Really enjoyed this one.

12oz bottle. Pours light brown/dark amber, small white head. The taste is nutty. with a roasted caramel taste to it. The flavors get more complex as the beer warms with the honey and other sweet malt tastes coming out. The alcohol taste is masked fairly well. I drank one of them with a churchill cigar and it was a brilliant combination.

Pours a dark copper with hints of red. Smells of caramel sweet maltness. White grape and raisiny sweet scents are also present. Tastes lightly of prunes and golden raisins. Very well balanced, the sweetness comes across first followed by a slight bitterness and a small but warm and pleasing alcohol bite makes itself present in the finish. Similar in many ways to TCOA in my opinion. Very enjoyable barley wine.
