Commercial Description:
Dominion Oak Barrel Stout is rich and smooth, a draught brew so popular at our Brewup that we found a way to bottle it for a wider audience. We combine seven different malts and two hops to create a delicious stout, that we dry-hop with fresh vanilla beans and toasted oak to finish our little treasure. The result is a stout that has the bourbon barrel flavor we all enjoy, and hope you will to.

Note: made with oak chips and vanilla beans, not aged in barrels. Available bottled and draft outside of the brewpub.

Bottle: pours will suprisingly little head (if any). The taste is dry smooth with mild carbonation. Nothing at all stands out throughout this beer; just a constant, lightly roasted taste with no highly discernable hops. This is a smooth, dry stout that goes down easily without any pronounced flavors, either positive or negative.

Poured a syrupy, black. Aroma was of oak; some vanilla, coffee, chocolate. Flavor was not as good as the brewpup version overall; initial flavor was a little dull. Medium body. Flavor is oak, vanilla, coffee; some chocolate. Disappointed compared to the brewpup version.

12 oz bottle: a good beer but not worth the $41 a case. Aroma is really oaky with hints of coffee. pours a dark black with a nice tan head that stays pretty well. flavor is full of oak, coffee, and vanilla that hits on the aftertaste. some bourbon notes from the oak. medium palate, but I would have prefered a little more body. pretty decent besides the extortionate price.

Bottle at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours very dark brown with a little, creamy tan head. Espresso aroma with bitter chocolate and vanilla. Chocolate lingers in the aftertaste before moderate roast sets in, coated with vanilla. Medium body. Not a chocker, just very harmonious and flavourfull.

Bottle. Aroma is roasty and almost chocolatey with light coffee and sweetness with a decent malt count. Opaque black pour with brown seeping out around the edges and a mm-thick light brown head. Taste reveals vanilla perfume along with the roast and a bit of bourbon, and there’s some medium-light sourness, but all is lost in a watery, wimpy body sorely in need of a rethink. Smooth with a bland disposition. Sigh, Dominion, I held such hopes for this one.

Black. Matly. Weak texture but has a great vanilla taste to go with the maltiness. Very Good Christmas present.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, oats, and oak. Flavor of malt, sweet chocolate, and wood with a somewhat thin mouthfeel and a dry finish.
