Commercial Description:
Dominion Oak Barrel Stout is rich and smooth, a draught brew so popular at our Brewup that we found a way to bottle it for a wider audience. We combine seven different malts and two hops to create a delicious stout, that we dry-hop with fresh vanilla beans and toasted oak to finish our little treasure. The result is a stout that has the bourbon barrel flavor we all enjoy, and hope you will to.

Note: made with oak chips and vanilla beans, not aged in barrels. Available bottled and draft outside of the brewpub.

Bottle. Small tan smooth head that mostly diminished, fine-small sized bubbles, poor lacing, no visible carbonation, opaque, and a dark brown hue. Malty, chocolate aroma and a malty, chocolate smooth flavor. Smooth, dry, watery, thin mouthfeel. Light-medium body.

Black slightly carbed pour. Slight wisky taste. Did not taste vanilla. Extremly enjoyable. A very good stout!

Trade from Sammy, thanks. 12 oz bottle. Very dark black beer with a thick light brown head. Beautiful aroma, milk chocolate, vanilla, malted milk, and a touch of fruit as well. Nice creamy texture, light chocolatey flavour up front, a bit chewy, oaky finish with vanilla accents. Fairly sour on the finish.

Very dark brown w/ a small, frothy light brown head. Roasty, burnt aroma of caramel, dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla & oak. Soft, creamy feel. Smooth, relatively sweet, malty flavour gives way to a earthy, almost burnt finish.

Pours opaque dark brown with a dense rocky tan head. Smell is smoky, roasted coffee. Sweet oaky aromas. Tastes of smoky chocolate. Underpinnings of coffee. Vanilla. That’s about it, it sticks to a few basic flavors and blends them well. Mouth is creamy without much aftertaste. Pretty drinkable if not overly complex.

bottle-pours black with a fizzy small bubble tan head with good retention and some lace. aroma has notes of dusty esters, vanilla, light roast, light chocolate, light char and some metallic notes as well. flavors exhibit the char notes with some milk chocolate in there as well. Oak is apparent at the start of the flavors, but never becomes overbearing and in the forefront. the head retention is great on this beer! The body is somewhat thin and fizzy, but its not detracting. Finish has some chauky and resiny notes in the mouthfeal. Coffee bitterness on the tongue all the way through from start to finish. a pretty solid stout that im glad i got to try. Thanks Secret Santa!

Aroma is sweet malts and vanilla. Pours dark brown-black with almost no head. Dry and smooth to drink. I was very impressed by this brew! Flavor is pretty typical stout, you get the vanilla flavors and that toated oak flavor pretty distinctly above others. I liked this at the time but the vanilla flavor stayed on my tastebuds a bit longer than i liked. Kinda ruined the next beer i drank.
