| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2005 Bottle, coppery pour. Nice slightly-sweet malty aromas and flavors - molasses, some biscuit, some notes of spicy noble hops. Just a kiss of acidity. A really well-balanced marzen imo. Good stuff. cvillebeer (134), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 24, 2005 Sometimes Dominion’s beers come across a little thin, but this was a nice effort. Better than several that I’ve tried this week, including some official German examples. Flavorsome, malty, subtly hoppy, nice. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2005 Dark red-brown coppery color, nice foamy head -- fades fast, no lace. Aromas of malt, earth, fresh hay, chocolate, hops and yeast. Flavors are well-hopped malt, caramel, molasses, dark fruit, grapefruit, herby hops, bready yeast and alcohol. Bitter finish. Nice mouthfeel. Well balanced malt to hop ratio. Plenty of malt, though, maybe more like a strong lager. AlchemistZ (493), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Orange-hued gold color with a thin, white head. A dry, toasty, toasted marshmallow aroma with just a little green hop underneath and some sulphur from a classsic lager ferment. Flavor has a wonderful, toasted campfire marshmallow and bready character. I like that alot. It is dry but not bitter I assume from the long lagering period. Richly malty but also very drinkable. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 18, 2005 12 oz bottle pours copper transparent with a nice creamy tan head that laces pretty well. Beautiful to look at. Aroma of bread, rich vienna malts, and a decent amount of German hops. Flavor is quite malty and sweet. Caramel, bread, some decent hops on the finish. This is very balanced. Malty like an Octoberfest should be with a fair amount of hops to balance it out. Medium bodied and very drinkable. Brodie (540), Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA

Crystal clear amber color, solid white head. Clean bread crust malt flavor, even balance, a little noble hop flavor in the finish. Medium body, smooth. A very drinkable oktoberfest.
