Sweet, bready malt nose, some caramel. Flavor is firmly on the sweet side, malty, bready, a mild herbal grassy note. Mildly herbal bitter finish, a tad sticky. golubj (1290), Sunnyvale, California, USA

Flavor much of the same, with some plum sweetness. Not a fan of the style but was pleasantly surprised by this beer. Good stuff. GoBlue (102), Falls Church, Virginia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2007 Rich, deep amber red in appearance with lasting head. stong malty aroma that carries into flavor. Just enough hops to balance. A nice example of the style sfontain (507), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Single 12 oz. bottle from Wine Vault, Columbus, OH. Red-amber pour with a mostly fizzy head; head dissipates into a medium-sized, white ring. Aroma is sharply sweet with malts; notes of raspberries and prunes. Flavor is rich and malty; rotting vegetable, fruit, a little caramel, and a touch of butterscotch; I don’t know if this is "proper" to the style, but this particular hop seems odd in this beer and would seem more in place in a pilsener, though it may just be that this beer is correct and the other oktoberfests I’ve had were not; dry hop finish without a lot of bitterness. Medium-thick, fizzy body. I didn’t like this at first but it has grown on me a little; still, not my favorite oktoberfest. EithCubes (2171), Indiana, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 2, 2007 Bottle. Very malty and lightly biscuity sweet aroma with a touch of veggie. Fizzy tan head quickly reduces to nothing, body is red-amber with medium-strong carbonation. Medium-thick malty body is rather oily; sharp with some acidity. Eh.
Also needs a ‘k’ in its name instead of a ‘c,’ but that’s just a bit of pickiness.
