Commercial Description:
This rich, red ale is made in the American Pale Ale style. It has a strong hop character, medium body, dry finish, and floral hop aroma. We use pale Two-Row Brewer’s malt, Caramel 80 and 40 Lovibond malt, and Munich malt. For bittering and aroma Willamette, Cascade, and Tettnang hops are used in the kettle and as dry hopping in the fermenter.

Draft. Luckily they had this on tap at a restaurant we visited while in Virginia. The other choices were unthinkable so went with these and to my surprise they were pretty good.

Draft. Pours copper with nose of hopcitrus, lemongrassy, caramel malt, with a medium palate and flavor of pretty heavy hops, a bit of fruit, and a solid malt bill. Very good, very hoppy, very crisp, and very assertive. Well done.

On draft at Capones. Pours a clear coppery amber with a medium white head. Aroma of citrusy hops, grassy notes and a hint of pine. Taste of light tangy citrus, grassy notes and bread dough.

Bottle, #466. Light copper pour with small head. Floral hop aroma with a bit of malt behind it. Well balanced flavor of malt and hops. Pretty good brew, better than the other Dominions I’ve had.

Poured a reddish amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, pine, caramel malts, toast, toffee, and a bit of nuts. Taste of grapefruit, citrus fruits, woody hops, pine, and light tobacco.

bottle from grape and gourmet poured into a pint glass. pours a darker copper with hints of gold and a big, bubble eggshell head. aroma is mild but very pleasing with mostly floral hops, citrus notes or orange and lemon, apple cider and cinnamon notes, and a bit of toasty malt. flavor is very nice with floral, leafy hops, fresh cut grass, citrus, red apple peel, and slightly sweet caramel malt. palate is very smooth, medium bodied, and well balanced with a dry and nicely bitter finish. overall, a quality beer.

Amber, small head. Hoppy nose, malts, astringently dry bitter hoppy finish; nice contrast with several far less interesting beers around it at the DBF.

Draught at Old Dominion Brewhouse, Washington DC
Deep blond color. Light but nice hop aroma. It has some malt flavor, getting better in the final, with a discreet hopping; quite strong bitterness, with fairly good hops. Pleasant.
