Commercial Description:
This rich, red ale is made in the American Pale Ale style. It has a strong hop character, medium body, dry finish, and floral hop aroma. We use pale Two-Row Brewer’s malt, Caramel 80 and 40 Lovibond malt, and Munich malt. For bittering and aroma Willamette, Cascade, and Tettnang hops are used in the kettle and as dry hopping in the fermenter.

Bottle- Deep amber with red hints, emitting a frothy beige cap. Moderate spider web lace. Fresh out the grocery store florals in the nose, lotsa hops, burnt sugars, caramalized fruits. Tastes spicy and hoppy (pine), rye bread, apples. Nice bite to the finish, assertive, and refreshing. A good one. thanks David!

Usually have a 1/6 keg of this in my downstairs fridge. It’s a perfectly serviceable APA. Well balanced malt and hops, some citrus, a solid pale ale, especially for the 1/6 keg price.

Bottle. Above-avg strength citrus and resin aroma. Expecting oiliness. Amber pour with a wee little beige head that quickly faded into nothingness. Medium-light watery body with a mf somewhere between prickly and smooth. Mild and inconspicuous. Light rubbery bitterness, a touch of woodiness, and little else. Slightly grainy. Just not enough flavor for a potentially explosive style.

Draught at Old Dominion for breakfast - RBSG DC 06 Caramel and amber. Light head and lacing. Nose of fruity hops, earthy and piney. Cereal like malty and light in body. The finish is average. Nice nose but not that interesting in the end.

Bottle. Cloudy brown color with an average frothy off-white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate sweet malty aroma. Medium body. Medium smooth bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration.

A fine pale ale. Not too hearty. A good session. I need to make a trip to Ashburn.

On tap at the brewpub, RBSG 2006. Amber with a decent white head. Malty, peppery nose. Mildly sweet malt flavor with a touch of herbal bitter in the finish.

Copper body with a light white head. Musky aroma, malty with a bit of hops. Sweet body, some malts and very light hops. Cool, smooth ending.
