So here it goes:Aggressively hopped beer that pours amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is floral and fruity dominated by hops. Flavor is hoppy with a malts thrown in for balance. However this is more of an IPA than a Pale Ale. fairly bitter finish that is lasting.
Alcohol flavors are fairly pronounced making this less balanced overall than it could be. WhiteSoxFan (152), USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 8, 2006 Bottle. Beer of the month. Pours a deep copper, almost amber, but not quite. Very clear, ~<1" head that went away quickly leaving a layer of foam. Sweet malt and florally almost fruity hop aroma. Taste is OK. Starts off good with a malty sweetness / hints of caramel up front, but becomes rather bitter with an odd, almost cardboardy or stale finish, hard for me to describe. Medium mouthfeel with a sort of high level of carbonation. OK, would not buy if I saw it at the store. Many better Pale ales out there. RaginCajun (284), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 6, 2006 Inviting aroma of flowery hops. The beer looks great in the glass. The flavor has a slightly sweet nose that is balanced by bitterness on the finish. Nice aftertaste as well. What a great beer; this is one of the best pale ales I’ve had in a while. rudolf (1786), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 29, 2006 The aroma has some caramel malt and grapefruit. The color is a dark golden with nice tan head with lacing. However, there are large particular pieces floating in the beer. The flavor has some malt but primarily a hoppish bitterness. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2006 Dark pour with a nice film of tan lace. Grapefruit and woodsy aroma. Initially, it has a very malty taste with some caramel, cookie and earth notes. Hops find their way into the middle and their bitterness lingers into the finish. Borderline English, but the hops and finish separate it. I enjoyed this one! beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 5, 2006 (02.03.06) On tap at Old Dominion brewpub, Ashburn, VA. Clear light orange hued ale having an average white head with good lacing. No discernable carbonation. Light sour hop aroma. Medium bodied that starts with light malt sweetness and light hop flavor. Finishes dry with light hop bitterness. Detected some stale, sour flavors. Oxidized beer? Not one of Old dominion’s better offerings. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jan 26, 2006 Dominion Pale Ale pours to a beautiful deep amber to ruby red color with a thick and creamy off white head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose is awesome on this beer. Big waves of piney and citric hop aromas marry with some nice sweet, caramel malt, and toasty aromas. The palate is a sea of smooth maltiness, and it is this fantastic malt backbone, that supports the estery fruity, citric and herbal spicy hop flavors, that dance over the tongue. Dominion Pale Ale finishes with more malt, fruit, and hop flavors, then ends with a big blast of citric and piney hop bitterness that lingers.
