JorisPPattyn (4642), Antwerpen, Belgium Oct 17, 2008 Near black dark brown beer with little head. Chocolate, wood, tobacco, and a little dark malts. Sweet & dark chocolate, dark malts, some hops, and wood. Very good balance. Generally very roasted character. Bit soft palate, falling a bit dead. Nice balance, pleasing beer, but petering out a little bit. gunnfryd (2840), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 20, 2008 Bottle, thx to thewolf, Brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is smoked, roasted, malt. Flavour is smoked, roasted, chocolate, caramel, coffee. OK beer yngwie (3762), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 19, 2008 Bottle, 75cl, thx to thewolf. Pours an almost clear brown body with a beige head. Caramel and some roast in the aroma, quite weak, and there’s also some bitter chocolate. The flavor is on another level, with chocolate and fruits, as well as some coffee. Quite dry. Full to medium body, and a roasted finish with some chocolate and coffee. The nose was disappointing compared to the flavor, it is a quite good beer, but as mentioned, it needs a heavier, more evident aroma. Red color, much dark, nearly black, inscrutable and decidedly dense one. Compact clear head, much evanescent. Altogether elegant however. Toasted and braced taste of wood, malty and cask. Much lively and prickly taste. Bitter and solid final. dunkpigen (311), Kolding, Denmark Mar 14, 2008 Thewolf tasting. Pours a deep mahogany with a beige head. Aroma of vere lovely chocolate. A mil flavour of chocolate and caramel, with a bit watery aftertaste.
