Sweet malt base I did not expect from the aroma, ok bitter counter, hops are somewhat one-dimensional though. Sparkly, medium chewy mouthfeel. Quick finish. raymondwave (882), Finland

Some yeastiness in the nose, but the flavor is really good. Smoothly bitter with a very pleasant hoppiness. A little sweet and flowery with smooth carbonation. I really liked it. Very pleasant, not too crisp. pivnizub (5096), Bochum, Porúří, Germany
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 12, 2005 Bottle: Straw golden coloured, big white fluffy, lacing head; grainy nose, combined with some grassy hoppiness, very mild bitter flavour, short dry, but smooth bitter finish; all in all quite mild and better, because not so agressive, than the most "extract"-spiced brews bierkoning (6099), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 28, 2005 Hay aroma. Creamy and flowery. Hoppyt flavor with some malty tones. Not really refreshing, the floweriness plays a dominant part in this beer. MoritzF (5067), Bochum, Germany
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 20, 2005 Updated: Mar 21, 2005Grown up in the shadows of Hoesch Phoenix Steel Works it is bitter to remember the old Stiftsbräu in the neighbourhood. Nowadays we have a mainstream brew which is sill acceptable according to the price of 7,5 €/20bottles. A quite fine (mainstream) Pils brewed by DAB. But RIP to the old (retired) Stiftsherren Pils of Stifts´ I liked so much during the old school days. dortmunder (961), Herdecke, Germany
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 25, 2004 Clear golden colour. Bubbly medium-sized head. Pretty mild Pilsener, with a medium dry finish. Drinkable, for the price certainly good. pivo (2537), Germany
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 15, 2003 Overall a typical Pils. Fairley attractive pale gold color. Light tight dry hoppy bitter finish. Thin but a nice balance. Decent. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Feb 2, 2003 This seems to be a very discussionable beer - as you can see with the other ratings here. I didn't like it - pivo liked it a lot. Light nearly nothing parfume nose. Pale straw with a soapy fizzy fast diminishing head. Soft carbonation. The Bitterness with it's slightly grain undertones for me is unpleasant. Interesting though that other think the other way. Hope more people will rate this beer to see where it ends!
