The aroma was mainly grain, with earthy notes. The flavor was malty. This is one of my favorite beers to have when dining out. BillyMidnight (41), Alberta, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 10, 2009 I was just glad to get a Mexican beer that didn’t come in a clear bottle and smelling of roadkill (Corona, I’m looking in your direction). Nice colour and surprising, malty aroma, but I can’t exactly see Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach sipping the stuff between gunfights. It’s just a little too light for that. I’m still hoping to find a beer that really tastes of Mexico, it’\s history, its people, its traditions, but I’m beginning go get the feeling the answer isn’t in my beloved, European fizzy drink, but in the mysterious and misunderstood agave plant. This watery stuff might as well be from the States. RasterMaster (125), , Oklahoma, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Copper colored pour into off white foamy had that rapidly dissipates into light ring of lacing around the glass. Active carbonated bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass into a swirl of foam in the center of the glass. Aroma of malty corn chips with hint of bitter hops. Initial flavor of malty corn tortillas that instantly fades into a watery sweet malty finish. This one is better from a tap and would also take the amber over the pale, but only if they aren’t serving margaritas. When dining out and getting the amber on tap, the salt and lime don’t do much for me. Cavie (1493), Fort Worth, Texas, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Bottle. Not bad. Pours an amber color with an off white head. Head diminishes rather quickly. Aroma was faint malts, and caramel. Flavor was corn and malts. Decent for a Mexican beer. Rodders (127), Norwich, Norfolk, England
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 1, 2009 (Bottle at Chiquito, a mexican restaurant in Norwich) Served in the bottle with a lime to be pushed in. I had a swig without lime, found taste was minimal, so shoved the lime in. Couldn’t see its appearance. Aroma was minimal, caramel and corn hints. Taste without lime was a weak watery, slighty maltier than usual lager taste, with a bit of caramel. With the lime it was obviously fruitier - was needed to add a bit of excitement to this beer. Went very well with the mexican food, and was drinkable - I didn’t actively dislike it, but there was absolutely nothing to get excited about. aletales (73), , Oklahoma, USA
