Commercial Description:
Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century.

Bottle (355ml). Poured in-between amber and copper with a small, rocky, off-white head which was mostly diminishing. Aroma was of sweet caramel malts with maple syrup, cranberries, odd cobweb-like notes and dusty old nuts (the type found underneath the couch). Flavor was of sweet, buttery malts with virtually no bitterness, brown sugar, dust, cobwebs and strange notes stale/bad nuts in the aftertaste. Light bodied with lively carbonation, a dry mouthfeel, watery texture and a short finish.

Pours light to medium dark amber with a beige/ almost white head. Aromas of sweet apple, touch of caramel, and a little hops. Flavors of apple, corn, caramel, other grains and a malty sweetness. Slightly bitter end. Watery. Not to bad. I enjoyed this more than Dos’s other beer.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant beer. It is great to drink with ACP. It has a deep Amber color to it and is very rich and hearty. I must say that I enjoy this beer a lot.

Copper and reddish hue. Fast disappearing head. Lots of corn and quite watery. Smells of cardboard.

Pours a standard amber color with a head that quickly disappears. The flavour is pretty industrial, with a very light hop pellet sour bitterness in the middle, and a sugary malt sweetness at the end. The finish is metallic. More or less what I expected. Pretty boring, but atleast the commercials are entertaining.

On restaurant "Botanero Sta. Lucia" in Monterrey, Mexico on September 13, 2005.
Clear amber color, white head. Malty sweet scent. Malty and a bit carmewl taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness. Rather nice.

Ok, I’ve not had this for a while, but I developed a liking for this when I worked for Oddbins. Streets ahead of other Mexican brews.
