I can literally smell almost nothing. Faint malt presence maybe. Color is amber (duh), pours a nice head with no retention, no lacing. Flavor is maltier than the Corona or Tecate, which is no surprise given the darker hue (duh!). Listed on here as an American Dark Lager but it’s more like a Vienna, isn’t it? Whatever. It’s a boring beer, just like the other two cervezas on my Mexican NIte. I just realized I gave all three a 1.2--weird. voiceofreason (47), New Jersey, USA

One of the best widely available Mexican beers--not that that is saying much. Tastes of light caramel and some nuttiness. HurtFactory (12), Shelby, Ohio, USA

I’ve drank all domestic and most imported, tried it all. This is one of the worst beers I have ever tasted. The drive through I bought it from had it on sale because nobody would buy it. Raunchy, stomach wrenching taste, like a poorly crafter brown beer begging for death by sink drain. Smells like amber dog shit, taste like amber ASS. I’ve drank all imports I can get my hands on and this one made me sick. The taste was comparable to Irish Red but much much worse coldbrewky (736), Saugerties, New York, USA

Dollar Beers! 2 x 1 happy hour all day!" Now, at first it sounds great but then I realized that they wouldnt have Pilsner Urquell unfiltered on tap...I was in Mexico. So I endured and went with this for my late lunch early supper sensability. A light amber/copper. England v. Croatia in soccer... yeah this is the place I had that tecate light. Ugh. Damn the awesome tortilla chips and blazingl spicy salsa arrived, I dove in and numbed my tounge to oblivion. The chilled glasses are a nice touch though. A refreshing waterish body that looks nice in the glass mug.. I cant tell if it was the salsa or if the beer realy didnt taste like anything...This aint no octoberfest by a long mile. | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Sep 15, 2009 12-oz. Pours a crystal clear dark amber with a loose scattering of tannish film across the top. Sweaty nose with bits of black pepper in there. Creamy lightish body. Some toasted malt, some doughy malt on the mid-palate. Nothing on the finish to keep them company. Now I know why they want you to stay thirsty, my friends--they’d feel bad if you weren’t in the mood to go drink something else after one of these. Fratto (751), Arlington, Texas, USA
