Commercial Description:
Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century.

A great beer for drinkin and I prefer the lime in it. Not very heavy or strong but able to drink smoothly. Good on a hot day and I still like it in the winter

Deep amber color very appealing with light head. Faint bitter / unpleasant taste at the finish. Not a favorite

Pours red with a moderate, light, fluffy head. Taste has a lot of corn qualities. Some caramel in there. Light in body, clean after-taste. Not bad, but nothing great either.

Not a bad Mexican beer at all. Not quite as good as the Special Lager though. Nice deep amber color and hint of malt and hops.

Tastes a lot lighter than it looks. Slight citrus aftertaste makes not want to buy it again.

I don’t like the amber as much as the special lager but that doesn’t mean that its a bad beer either. It has a nice flavor with hops and some hints of malt and caramel, not as refreshing as the special lager but goes great with a nice Mexican dinner.

Drinkable but not flavorless, XX Ambar is probably the best Mexican lager I’ve ever had. Enough hops to give it a flavor without bitterness and warming malts without starchiness, it is a beer without much formal character that can still occasionally be enjoyed by beer aficionados. It’s my guilty pleasure.
