Clear nut-colored with ruddy hues, quickly fading bubbly white head, minimal lacing. Very strange aroma; it wants to be nutty, but it’s artificial, like a cleaning agent. Light body, thin texture, carbonation is initially fizzy and sharp, then quickly dissipates and becomes flat. Flavor is all sweet malt, with no hop bitterness whatsoever, but there is that nutty quality again in the taste which makes it slightly more interesting than a pale lager. But again, the whole experience is artificial and unpleasant -- I would call this a pale lager with artificial nut coloring and flavoring, although I’m sure that’s not literally the case. apingos (77), Rockford, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 9, 2007 on tap at the oasis in Rockford. Poured a dark amber with a decent head. Minimal hops and was balanced. Nothing too special. A very good beer. LinusStick (1844), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 8, 2007 A suprise after their pale lager. On tap at Senor Frogs Myrtle Beach: Dark amber pour with a 2 finger head. Aroma of malt. Taste a very carbonated mix of malt and carbonated water. Thick mouthfeel for a vienna. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 7, 2007 Not as good in my opinion as the regular Dos Euis. Obvious nice amber color. I would say its better than usa macros, but a vienna shoudl be, right? But tastes more like a pale larger to me. Not really impressed with this one. Prcaus (159), New Jersey, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 7, 2007 12 oz bottle. -Nice beer for the Cinco de Mayo weekend. I do feel the tasting was a little off as they kept shoving limes in the bottle. Dark-amber coloring, light bodied- very easy to drink quickly if necessary, flavoring was slightly sweet which I attribute to the limes. CheersBabe (62), USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 5, 2007 I have sampled many beers from Mexico and I have yet to find one that I really like, including this one. I was expecting a bit more flavor from its origional counterpart. Aroma was the first thing that told me that this beer would not be anything special. It does look nice however, a deep color. The flavor is a bit light so it can be drank fast. Overall an average beer, nothing great. obguthr (1031), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 0.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | May 4, 2007 I expected more, but this is worse than the regular Dos Equis Lager. Smells a little soapy and metallic. Copper in color with almost no head from the tap. Very lacking in taste, but what little there is metallic.Very thin mouthfeel. Either the restaurant where I bought it waters their beers down or this is just a bad brew. I was probably way too generous with the rating. torturer666 (29), Commerce, Michigan, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 4, 2007 Poured a light, nice looking amber. Head, small--disappeared rapidly. Lot’s of carbonation, however. Aroma was faint, but decent.
Taste was less than expected. I would happily take a michelob amber bock, which has more flavor, cheaper, and yet, somehow still not as intresting as this. The value-meter of the Bock would be convincing. Nothing special..
