Commercial Description:
Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century.

I was pleasantly surprised last week when I decided to try dos eqies amber in the bottle. Like the name, it has an amber appearance, and an overall good flavor and palate I wasn’t expecting.

Had this on tap at mad mex, it was like 2 or 3 bucks in a 22oz glass so i went for it. Not to bad for a pretty much being a american pale lager with a little color to it. I dont think it can be considered a vienna.

it’s ok for a Mexican lager, but it’s sub-par for a Vienna. Pours a pale orange. Very thin, tangy mouthfeel. Some watery malt taste and a bit of caramel. Watery finish.

A much bigger fan of this than the lager. A bit heavier, but still extremely drinkable, especially when you’re on the beach on the Yucatan.

Enjoyed this with a chile relleno at the local Mexican restaurant. Would categorize as a great "thirst quenching" beer, typical of the American lager style in its flavor. Holds up well to other lagers.

On tap with a lime is the only way to drink this beer. It still manages to be less than average to me. I bought a six of bottles and I’m struggling to finish them...

12oz brown bottle. Reddish-copper crystal-clear body with a thin light tan head. Smells sweet and roasty, like caramel and biscuit. Tastes roasty and grainy and slightly watery with a clean finish. Light body with only moderate carbonation. Better than standard macro lager, but nothing particularly special. You’d be better off with Negra Modelo. Having said that, It’s a light drinkable pleasant amber lager.

A little better than their premium lager, but still not much aromas and taste again.
