| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 1, 2006 I really enjoy this beer. Its not too heavy for a dark beer, but not watered down. Aroma is okay, nothing to shout about. Appearance is a chocolaty-caramel color, not too dark, about right on for an amber. Easy on the palate, but not overly exciting. Great with food or a night of drinks at the pub.
Don’t put lime in it. DrnkMcDermott (1854), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 29, 2006 Rating #982! Bottled. Served with wedge of lime and a frosted mug that I tried to warm up a bit. Pours a light amber color, with a thin but appealing layer of foam. Slightly malty but typical "dark beer" smell. I get a bit of corn adjunct when I finally get un-numbed. as noted, just dark color without much character to match beyond a vague toastiness. As a Vienna, it comes up short, but as a Mexican dark beer, it’s a decent match with spicy food. DrewTaylor (154), Michigan, USA

Not very different from the original XX lager. Deep taste, but not what you expect from a mexican beer. If I am no a beech I am choosing something different. emacgee (1891), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 24, 2006 Poured a thin, translucent, amber brew. Had a medium, white, frothy head. It smelled like cheap macro, very corny and like cardboard. Tasted very bland, flat, and simple. The palate was thin. the finish was smooth and thin. iamsancho16 (99), USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 17, 2006 I really can’t count the times I’ve had this beer while dining out at Mexican restaurants. Mexican joints are a dime a dozen here in California, and they all pretty much have Dos Equis in bottles or on tap. This is probably one of my top 5 Mexican beers because it goes quite well with most Mexican food and it’s fairly tasty. The aroma is very average with little to offer except a little malt. Appearance is a light brown color, smallish sized head. Mouthfeel is neither pleasant or offensive. Flavors are a little malty, some hope bite in the back end and very pleasant going down. You could do much, much worse with other south of the border beers so if you see XX then you can bet it will be okay. faroeviking (6100), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 16, 2006 Bottle. Darkish amber color with an average lasting head. Aroma of toasted malt. Thin flavor though it has a nice touch of malt and some caramel. SudsMcDuff (1694), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

Good solid taste that is missing something, to expensive too, well for what you get at least...had in NO..it pretty much sickened me..had again at dons, not bad but i was drunk as a skunk on payday..had sober, fukin nasty..a mexicans armpit would be more enjoyable.
