Pours out a fizzy, over carbonated yellow with a thin white head. Full of super sweet caramel malts with some light yeast and even lighter hop notes. Aroma and flavor indistinguishable from each other. GG (1650), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 8, 2009 Dined out at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants tonight and while the food is outstanding (as always) the beer, in this case Dos Equis lager, wasn’t. Not bad at all, just a standard Mexican lager. Little to offer and little to be offensive but it went well with my Camarones a la Diabla and Albondingas.
The beer poured out a light-to-medium yellow gold color with a 3" finger head. Absolutely no retention with the head. Aroma is corn, lightly malted and some kind chlorine like odor. It wasn’t horrible, but it was on the way there. Watery mouthfeel. Flavors were corn and uh...some kind of sweetness. Maybe it was a good thing I had some spicy food because it could have been worse. I’ve had Dos Equis on a number of occasions, and it’s always the same. I guess their QC is up to par! Quack-Duck (3281), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany

Clear yellow colour, mid-sized white head, hoppy aroma. Malty start with s sticky-sweet touch. Cardboard and dust, malty background with a shy fruityness. Ja29ck (25), Salisbury, Maryland, USA

| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | May 5, 2009 Yellow pour with fizzy head, lots of carbonation. Smells like someone wrapped a skunk in a corn tortilla. Taste is corny, some cleaning supplies, a bit of pee. Fizzy mouthfeel that kind of dies and turns to a flattish mess. Finishes with a vegetable flavor like the last few pieces of lettuce at a salad bar. tronraner (1933), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 5, 2009 12 oz bottle, consumed at home on Cinco de Mayo. Pours pale straw color with very little white head. The aroma is strong sweet corn with just a little bit of papery, chemical hops. The flavor is corn and artificial-seeming sweetness, with a little bit of a dried plant thing going on in the background. There’s a very distant bitter astringency in the finish. Very unimpressive. Thanks Joe, didn’t think you would miss this one... Pours a light golden color with no head and lots of carbonation bubbles.. Smell and taste is slightly sweet and bready, it’s your basic pale lager...Good carbonation and very clean.. I don’t drink pale lagers very often, but when I do... I prefer Dos Equis!!
