Less than 1 inch of white empty foam. Smells like sweet corn and sugar, and other cow grains. Tastes like water with sugar added. Begs for the lime to be added to make up for the poor/lack of taste. sneagrams3 (1762), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Corn and cereal aromas. Sweet simple sugars. Light bodied and dry, but citrusy. Tart citrus and mild effervescence. Bigger palate than Tecate with fruit esters undertones. zebracakes (1216), Washington DC, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 17, 2008 A decent Mexican beer. Average is a good term to describe Dos Equis. It doens’t taste bad, but nor does it taste exceedingly good (slightly above average). It has an underlying sourness to it that I don’t find appealing; but I won’t knock it for that. The aroma of Dos Equis leaves much to be desired. If I were to have based my opinion entirely on the aroma this would be an absolute 1. However; the taste makes up for the odor a little bit. Don’t let that last sentence mislead you; the taste isn’t exactly something to be sought out, but you won’t be spitting it out either. On a slightly unrelated note; when I go to Mexican restaurants and ask for Dos Equis they always make me repeat it a few times as though I was mispronouncing it. Then they say "Ah, Dos Equis!" exactly the same as I said it. I don’t expect prizes when I pronounce something right, but if you’re saying it the same way I’m saying it then why are you acting like you don’t understand me? Maybe I’m missing something... And why am I writing this as though that particular waiter is reading my comments? (sorry, I’ll end this rant now) greatguy (11), plzen, Czech Republic

Actually, I can’t imagine much worse from a beer that isn’t infected in some way. Pour was really pale yellow, looked almost like water at the bottom of the glass. The head wasn’t very big. The aroma smelled like rotten corn and the flavor wasn’t much different. Cloyingly sweet, like sweaty socks and corn. Really, really bad. I tried to let it warm (although I knew that would just make things worse). A very rare drain pour for me KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA

It’s got some actual flavor to it.
