Commercial Description:
Dos Equis Special Lager is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water, this distinctive brew is known simply as “Lager” in its homeland.

Bottle. Funky aroma. Sweet corn flavor. Fairly heavily bodied for a pale lager but nothing to write home about.

9/20/2007: Dos Equis Lager Especial looks like water. It is extemely ultra clear, a very, very, very pale shade of yellow, and has very little visible carbonation (just a few bubbles here and there). There is a white head that quickly diminishes and leaves a thin crown. The aroma is extra, extra pale malt. The flavor is lighly malty and mildly sweet. There is just a hint of bitterness in finish. This beer is light (lacks body) and very soft and smooth on the palate. It’s definitely refreshing (but so is water, except tap water in Mexico!), questionably palatable (okay, so its not horrible), and better than most of its direct competitors overall.

12 fl. oz. bottle (M1816E0107*7) from Bigg’s Hypermarket in Harrison, Ohio. Rating #587 for this beer...

Tap. Spectacular with Mexican food. Crisp finish, light aroma. Not as good as the Amber, but will always chose it over Corona.

Not much in the way of aroma, flavor or appearance. Thin palate. Nothing worth your while here.

This was not bad for an imported Mexican beer. I greatly prefer this over Corona but compared to any other beer it just does not hold up but for a beach beer it isn’t bad.

Can’t really say a whole lot about this beer. It did pour a golden color. Not much smell, not much taste. But the food I had with it was very spicy and very good.

Thin, light, fizzy, watery, golden yellow lager. Slight grass and corn aroma. Crisp taste, dry finish. My favorite of the Mexican lagers.
