Poured a clear pale golden yellow, plentiful supply of flowing micro bubbles, small white that quickly dissipates into a thin sudsy lacing. Nothing special here.
Aromas of sulphur lager yeast, cooked field corn, a light mustiness in the background.
Easy to drink light body, smooth, mild crispness and dry. Sweet pale malty taste at first, pale sugary and grainy, followed by touches of boiled corn. Lemony tea-like hops, softly spicy in the end. Finishes with tastes of dry cereal grains and sweet corn.
Not my favorite Mexican pale lager, but better than a lot of other macro pale lagers. I have to admit, I find the recent "humorous, muy macho" TV ads a bit of a turn-off.

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 13, 2007 On tap at Dos Reales. Pours a light yellow with a small, frothy, white head that diminishes leaving decent lacing. The aroma is grainy corn with maybe a slight hint of citrus (no lime in the glass). Light, thin and overly carbonated with a slight hop bitterness at the end. Mildly sweet and grainy with notes of corn and metal, finishing slightly dry. Overall: Meh. It was just a touch better when I added the lime I was served on the side, but that’s not really saying much. Bottle - This is my favorite mainstream Mexican beer. I usually have a bottle or two when I’m at a Mexican restaurant, but I’ve never felt inclined to buy it otherwise. Overall, I like it, but I’m also a fan of Miller High Life, so. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
