Dos Equis Special Lager is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water, this distinctive brew is known simply as “Lager” in its homeland.

This beer is weak, watery, with hardly any taste. Typical of a macrobrew pale lager. Okay for everyday drinking, but nothing special.

Overall Impression: Probably the best of the Mexican Pale Lager Macro group, certainly is the top one for me. They are all pretty similar though, and are all better with a lime, which doesn’t say a whole lot about the beer’s original taste.

330ml bottle. Pale and pasty in the glass with no head at all. Some carbonation but it does not develop into any foam. Mild aroma with a hint of sweetness buried under the heavy hop aroma. Bland, thin and watery and tastes very flat. A very basic brew.

Look, if you’re buying a Mexican beer, I guess you pretty much know what to expect and this is no exception. Pours a clear gold color with thin white head. Aroma is sweet corn and yeast. Flavor is typical Mexican lager--notes of sweet adjuncts and not as skunky as Corona. Clean finish. Nothing great, but a good lawnmower beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a very pale yellow with a small, foamy white head. Smells of canned corn, adjunct sweetness, euro lager, and a little hops. Medium high carbonation with an ultra light mouthfeel and a touch of dryness. Light grain, a bit of metallic bitterness, and a light floral note on the palate. Very short finish and on the watery side too boot. Overall kind of dry and tasteless.

Ouch... not pleasant at all. Even after the shot of tequila (which was warm).

Pours clear golden amber with a frothy white head that fades. Smells grainy and earthy with sweet fruit. Taste is extremely plain. Weak and watery.
