Commercial Description:
Dos Equis Special Lager is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water, this distinctive brew is known simply as “Lager” in its homeland.

Bottle served at BBQ. Poured a clear pale starw color, rocky cap disappears instantly to a tiny ring, no lacing. Weak nose, light dextrin sweetness, and wet cardboard. Uneventful profile; weal malt spine barely detectable hopping, fiast watery finish. Complete powdered extract dreck.

Comes out of the tap a clear amber-yellow with a rather typical white head. Aroma is crisp, strong and malty; I picked up a whiff of lime but this probably came from the obligatory lime wedge on the glass. Flavor is crisp, malty and just a little yeasty. The lively and fizzy texture leaves a slightly yeasty finish.

On tap. Fizzy yellow wuss beer. Slimy head of white froth. Aroma is just about nonexistent, maybe some corn, paper, and pale malt. Flavor is extremely watery with little substance but adjunct sweetness with a little mineral note. Good for washing down Mexican food, not good for anything else.

Bottles at various mexican restaurants over the years. Pours out a fizzy, over carbonated yellow with a thin white head. Full of super sweet caramel malts with some light yeast and even lighter hop notes. Aroma and flavor indistinguishable from each other.
