Has a big double alcohol taste for it being 10%. I have had double beers that are 10% and I couldn’t tell at all. Not so with this. It’s just not a very enjoyable double drink. Double the arrogance. Double the terribleness.
Double your pleasure. Double your fun. Try it all with Double mint...Gum... eh never mind. Beerman6686 (1282), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Tastes of pineapple, extremely biter hops and alcohol. Drinking this is like taking a punch in the face. airforce1 (61), Atascosa, Texas, USA

Alchohol is not hidden at all, with a massive hop content to balance. Burns in the stomach once it’s there. Beautiful burnt orange, amber color when held to a light. As rugged and viscuous as this beer is, it is still somewhat balanced, and I reccommend to all. hoooraybeer (48), Cranford, New Jersey, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Aroma is deep citrus and dark berries and a slight alcholoic bourbon sweetness. Pours a thick tan head. Color is dark honey. Mouthfeel is perfect-thick but just sparkly enough. Taste and aroma are very similar to DFH 90 Min, but it’s all a little better and more sophisticated. The flavor is the same as the aroma, but you get a refined bitter that is dry and very fresh - like a nose full of fresh hops. The bitter makes this beer. All the rest is good but the bitter is unique and very well balanced with it’s sweetness. And that play masks the alcohol very very well.
This is a real joy. Superb! aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 7, 2008 My 666th rating, appropriately enough. Thanks to miketd for this sweetass .....extra! Pours a dark hazy orange amber with a two finger creamy orange head. The aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, citrusy hops, a little alcohol, mellow. The flavor is strong, sweet, caramel, a little alcohol, waxy grapefruit peel, mellow. The palate is full and smooth the malt adding quite the mouthfeel with the hops contributing a waxy backbone. Nice strong ale. bierkoning (6033), La Tropica, Netherlands

Raisin and some flowery hops in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with raisin, pepper, nutmeg, blackcurrant, banana, plums and flowery and oily hops. Good complexity, full bodied, heavy on the tongue, well hidden alcohol. Satisfyingly balanced. Oily hopbitter aftertaste, almost vinous. Syrupy mouthfeel. A huge beer!
