t4h2c0 (44), seattle, USA Feb 20, 2008 This is some dank shit. I consider it mothers milk. Strong and in your face with a big nose a full flavor. At 10% this beer can get on quite quick but is still very drinkable. Good combo of hops and malt, very thick beer that punches you in the mouth. Great beer overall. You’re Not Worthy!!!!
BMan1113VR (582), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Jun 28, 2008 2006 Keg on draught at Stone Bistro. Pours with a slightly murky brown body with a small, tight, off-white head that leaves great lacing. Aroma is complex, with currants, raisins, and light oxidation. Tastes is amazing, very rich and spicey with a really long duration, and a nice alcohol bite at the finish. A little bit of sherry and other oxidized notes. Lively bubbles. beachbum25 (577), Powellville, Maryland, USA Jun 28, 2008 22 oz Bomber-Pours a cloudy, reddish color w/no head but good lacing. Sweet aroma. Sweet, sticky, hoppy flavor w/a very rough edge, kind of woodsy & smokey w/traces of dark fruit. Oak barrell taste as well. Alcohol was very evedent, definately a sipper. Oscbert (181), Sacramento, California, USA Jun 21, 2008 ~Pours dark red with big creamy off white head. Some lacing.
~Citrus hop grapefruit aroma combined with a malty sweetness.
~Sweet flavor but extremely hoppy. Has hints of fruit in there and smokiness.
~Thick and sticky feel. Alcohol tinge present.
~Great flavor on this one! I cant believe it has 10% alc. Definetly one I will enjoy again.
The back of the bottle gets harder and harder to read with each sip. Bigmmartin (80), Kettering, Ohio, USA Jun 21, 2008 On Tap at Bier Tasting event at Boston’s Bistro & Pub in Dayton. This is just a more hard hitting version of the original bastard. Tastes like an epic battle between malt and hops, both struggling for control of your taste buds. What the hell just happened in my mouth? 1_2many (89), Ohio, USA Jun 21, 2008 A lot of malt and molasses in the aroma touched lightly with hops. Very smooth sweet malt with a small bitter finish going down. Some alcohol is apparent towards the end.
