Quite coppery and peculiar going down. A few pears thrown in. was rich and felt thick. Had it at a great little pub in melbourne: The elephant and wheelbarrow before going to see Live play and drinking the worst tasting heinekins you will ever find.

Poured a clear amber color w.th a big white head. Aroma was of mostly bland malts, with some spicy hops floating in there. Flavor was much the same, sweetness in the foretaste and a decent hop finish.

...big can. Not too bad at all, I was surprised. Weird malty flavor, as I can remember. I need to try this again to refresh my memory, but I think it was pretty decent, and relatively inexpensive.

Bottle. Amber colour with a white head. Light caramel aroma. Malty taste, some grainy notes.

Can -- Pours an orangey brown with no visible carbonation but a short creamy white nitro head with good retention and tremendous lacing. The aroma is gentle malt with a bit of bread and fruit. Gentle, creamy mouthfeel with no carbonation. The flavour is also gently malty with a little bitterness at the end. This was my favourite brew 20 years ago during a trip to England -- sitting in a warm pommy pub on a cold winter’s night with a pint of this was heavenly. It’s still OK 20 years on in Australia (sort of friendly, warm and comforting, actually), but it really needs the British backdrop to bring out the flavour.
