Commercial Description:
It’s that time of year again...time to settle in with a nice dark ale and warm up your spirit. Hunker Down is stronger and hoppier than our original brown ale, with an extra touch of Belgian attitude. Hunker Down with a big pint of the brown! Brewed with Gambrinus Organic Pilsner malt, imported crystal malts and Perle hops. 7.0% ABV, 55 IBU

Tasted at Double Mountain in Hood River, OR--Poured a heavy duty brown body with a small tan-grey head. Noe of rich malts, roasted and bitter. A mild tartness and a resonating malt spine and hops bitterness that made this rather delicious!

Draft at Concordia ale house. Nice robust brown color with tan/cream head. Minimal lacing, but might be glassware issue as glasses had to be rinsed prior to pitcher pour because of bleach smell. Nice malt accent with mild roast and chocolate notes. Some hop character in the middle with a slightly dry, roasty finish. Slight linger of bitterness and spicy belgianesque twang. A quaffable brew that still has some balls!

Draught. Poured deep brown with tan head. Very much lacing. Malty aroma with a nice hope tone. Deep flavour much maltiness and a bit of toast and spice. Lekker finish.

Draft at Horse Brass: Pours a very dark and opaque brown, looks like a porter. Small but very creamy milkshake tan head. Aroma of toasty malts and some belgian fruity esters with just a hint of those clunky Perle hops! Flavor is malty and nutty with chocolate notes, slight fruitiness with a really nice creamy body and a floral, almost herbal hop finish. Very nice brown.
