| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Draft at Nora’s Fish House in Hood River, OR. At first, I thought this was a misprint on the menu, listed as Double Mountain IRA. The waiter was knowledgeable about beer, and explained it, as well as recommended it as one of his favorites. I was favorable impressed. The deep coppery amber body resided under a creamy light beige head. Aroma was a fresh piney hop and brown sugar combination, with the hops being front and center. Very smooth with a richness and certain chewiness was also notable. Well balanced, and a nice spicy bitterness in the finish was also spot on. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2009 Draught. Poured iron ore red with thin white head, much lacing. Slight but pleasant aroma of hop, a little citrus a little pine. Medium hoppy flavour, somewhite like an IPA, but restrained. Thing hop finish. Perhaps it was two cold, perhaps it is me, perhaps this ale was trying to be a pale and an India Pale at the same time. BeerFanDan17 (621), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA
