Commercial Description:
2007: A sunrise trip to the Weathers hop farm outside Salem yielded us sackfuls of plump, picked-that-morning Crystal hops. This brew has fantastically juicy and mouth-coatingly resinous qualities, while remaining balanced and super-drinkable. Brewed with organic Pilsner Malt, imported crystal malts, and fresh Oregon hops. 7% ABV, 60 IBU 2008: The folks at Weathers Farms supplied us with some beautiful Perle hops this year, which lent a more balanced aroma to our ’08 effort. Matt chose to tweak this year’s brew with more malt and some Simcoe hops (dried, not fresh), which helped to make the beer bigger in all respects. A seriously heady beer! Brewed with organic Pilsner Malt, imported crystal malts, Simcoe and fresh Oregon Perle hops. 7.8% ABV, 70 BU

On tap at the brewpub. Poured dark orange with a thick white head. This beer is the closest in both aroma and taste to marijuana that I’ve ever experienced. Not much balance to speak of, but it was still quite the experience to say the least.

Tap @ Concordia Ale House from their release party. Poured a burnt orange with an off-white head. Burnt sugars malts and hops on the nose. Well carbonated palate. The Belgian yeast really influence this beer with sweet herbs, squash-like qualities, and fruits. Not aggressive at all. Not as much as the fresh hop flavor I would hope for, but a lot of candy sweet malts and a very smooth finish.

On tap at Belmont Station. Pours amber, cloudy, with a thin white head. Very floral hop nose, citrus, pine, soft caramel base. The high abv shows slightly, but wasn’t to distracting. The beer loses some of the fresh hop flavors to the strength of the beer, but it makes a really nice ipa/iipa non-the-less.

Draft at the brewpub. An unclear amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet and very grassy hoppy with medium notes of peaches. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of over ripe peaches, grassy hops, and peanuts. The finish is bitter.

Draft: Pours a amber color with thick white head. Light aroma of malts and some hops but not very strong. Flavor is malty and carmelly with medium hop bitterness and lots of fresh hop flavor. Very green hops in this one. Very aptly named. Alcohol shows through just very slightly on this one and with all the green hop flavor almost reminds me of eating some kind of green vegetable. So it makes this beer a little hard to drink.

Poured a golden-amber hue with a medium-sized white head. Grassy, earthy fruity hop notes. Decent malt spine and a finish of spicy and resinous citrus hops. very quaffable and easy to drink again and again.
