Draft at the Green Dragon: Pitch black with a1inch brown creamy swirled head like some kind of mocha. Excellent aroma of burning firewood and melting chocolate. Flavor is malty and chocolatey with some of the burnt wood and a little hops bitterness to finish it off. Thick creamy body. Alcohol is not apparent although the thick body gives you an idea.Great beer with only more complexity to improve it to make it wonderful.

Oct 14, 2007 On tap at the PDX Green Dragon. Pours black with a smooth brown head. Very rich roasted bakers chocolate flavor. Earthy and almost dry woody quality to the finish. Hints of plum and port in the malts, giving a sweet depth to the malts that gives good complexity. Finishes with a light coffee aftertase.
