Commercial Description:
Douglas Celtic Brown is a real Scottish ale, rude as its country of origin, mysterious as the legends and as generous as the inhabitants.

Dark red-brown colour. Flavour is far from unpleasant but doesn’t seem to have found the right balance. The texture is rather thin and gassy which doesn’t match well with the rich aroma with hints of aniseed and the complex malty then bitter taste.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Caramel, chocolate and butterscotch in the aroma. Sweet roasty caramelly flavor with apple syrup. Caramelly bitter aftertaste. Tasty brew.

Appearance: reddish brown color. Medium head of clear-beige color and with good retention. Aroma: to caramel and roasted malts, dark sugar, butterscotch, ripe fruits like plums and fig and spicy hints of ginger and clove. Flavor: sweet dark malts, caramel, toast, berries, plum and figs; sweet spiciness similar to ginger, cinnamon and clove. Progress with other notes similar to red-apples skin, candied fruits and multi-berries jam. Final lightly astringent, with lasting fruity-dryness and some slight eucalyptus notes. Sweet wine’s reminiscences. Palate: light to medium body and semi-viscous texture. Low carbonation. Remark: light unbalanced in the start, finally compensate. Some notes of complexity and character. Nice.

33 cL bottle. Pours golden amber with an orange hue and a lacing off-white head. Light fruity and mild roasted malt aroma. Flavour is sweet breadish and mild roasted. Ends light yeasty and roasted malt giving a light acidic note.
